Bella woke up in the middle of the night to tell me she had pulled out her tooth. Lucky for me I was on my computer so she didn’t wake me up…I guess something good does come from staying up late. Her tooth was more than ready to come out and I’m glad she waited until we got home so I could participate in the tooth fairy tradition. She is very excited about this and has apparently talked to all her friends at school. I have been told by Bella “If you loose your tooth at school you get $10 and if you loose your tooth at home you get $2”. Anyway, this is my first time. I was wondering what are some of your traditions? I wanted to do something a little different for the first tooth, but haven’t completely decided what. She wants to take her tooth to school and show her class, apparently it’s fine with her teacher, so that leaves me another day to think of something. If anyone has anything please share .
Oh and btw is it snowing for any of you? It is here….I’m not ready for winter.
So cute. It’s funny because we have been loosing teeth in our house as well. The only tradition that I have is I normally will reply to the letter that my kids have written me. It’s kinda funny they write questions and then put p.s. write back. I type it so they don’t know it was me. The most I have ever left is $1. Honestly, I think mine were more excited that they got a note.
Do they give the kids a tooth necklace at school? Here they do so they can put their tooth in it. My daughter was so upset the other day when she lost hers in her classroom. I told her that the tooth fairy was magical and would find a way of getting it.
I should post it. Your snow looks cold! BRR. Our air conditioning is still running here.
how cute is bella? she is looking so grown up. no advice here on the tooth fairy thing but oh man am i depressed about the snow today… i am so not ready!
Growing up our tooth fairy would leave a dollar for the front teeth, 2 bucks for a molar and some sticky candy to promote losing more teeth. Usually it was taffy or a Sugar Daddy. We had to write her a note and put it on our front door and she would always write back and tell us to keep them coming. I remember the tooth fairy more than Santa or the Easter Bunny- weird.
I was seriously sad last night with the inch of snow we got down here. Just depressing. I thought I was okay with winter, but I changed my mind.
Oh fun! We didn’t have any cool tooth fairy traditions. Did you see Kristie’s tooth fairy pillowcase? It’s so cute. Can you believe your “baby” is old enough to lose her teeth? Where does all the time go?
Darling photo Amy. Bella was showing us her loose tooth last weekend, so that’s fun that she lost it this week.
We have a little match box I painted that the kids put their tooth in and put under their pillow, then the tooth fairy takes the tooth and puts the money in there.
We started out giving Max $1 per tooth. Then he had what we called “snaggleteeth” that wouldn’t come out, and when they finally did he got $2 because we told him the tooth fairy especially loved them.
When Lucas started losing teeth, Marc gave him $2, saying the tooth fairy loves front teeth. Apparently the tooth fairy just loves all their teeth now.
When Max got his 8 teeth pulled at once, he got $20 from the tooth fairy as a bulk bonus!
I love the idea of giving sticky candy to encourage losing more teeth. I am so not ready for snow…
