Friday night we all went to sleep like every other night until about 11:58pm when Megan woke up puking all over the place. Adam was the first one to get to her and I followed shortly after. We got her all clean up and laid her back down to sleep with a water and fresh jammies. For all of you who know this flu has been going around in the extended family, so I felt slightly prepared, yet I still wasn’t prepared for what happened the rest of the night. Megan proceeded to wake up 17 time puking every time throughout the night. It was literally every 20 minutes on the dot. Adam couldn’t get back to sleep after the 3rd time so he ended up watching TV all night and joined me when Megan needed help. I couldn’t believe what was happening and after about the 7th time I turned to him and said, “See you in 20 mintues.” Finally around 3:20am he begged me to stay in bed and he would take care of her. I must say I hate to get up, but when it comes to my kids needing help I have a hard time letting go. That night around midnight Adam got really sick. He was up all night again dealing with himself. I must say I was very fearful of who would be next. The next few nights when I put the older girls to bed I talked them thru what to do if they felt sick in the night. As it turns out no one else has gotten it. I feel confident that it’s out of the house, but you never know. Every night I go to bed I pray that was the last of it and so far so good. I am hoping this will be it for the winter season, but somehow I doubt it.
Have you guys been dealing with sickness in your home?
have we ever!!! all of us have has nasty, nasty colds for the last couple of weeks and estee just got over 3 weeks of being sick, i too am praying the worst has past!!!! hope eveyone over your way stays well!!!!
So awful! I can’t believe Megan was so sick. None of mine had it that bad. Just for your information, it’s even here in Australia (just to put to rest Jill’s theory that it started with us). I really hope you don’t get it or the other girls. Vomiting is the worst. As soon as you clean it up they do it again and the smell is so disgusting. I am so thankful that we weren’t on the plane when Austin got sick- even though I am still mad at them for not letting us on! Good luck- drink lots of “Airborne”.
OH my goodness….came back from utah with a cold and runny nose and caugh…but not like that flu…like Jill’s what is up with that? Hope it is gone and forever….how tiring you guys must be!
Hard times at your house. I am so sorry but glad it seems to have left the building. I feel the same way about letting go when they need you- just our instinct I suppose. We have all been in good health here so I am crossing my fingers it stays that way.
It’s so awful that you guys had to be up all night with Megan and that Adam got sick, but woohoo for you! I stayed healthy too. I like to think it’s because of my obsessive hand-washing skills.
we had the stomach flu for about a week and half during halloween. the worst! we have colds now, but i’d much rather deal with that. hopefully that’s it.
glad megan’s doing better!
When the littlest ones throw up, it’s the worst! They don’t know how to contain it in a bowl. We have had that every 20 minute thing happen with our boys before — so sorry you had to deal with that. Poor Megan, poor Adam. Hope everyone else is spared!
Ames, I am hurting for you guys and for little Megan and her 17 episodes. How awful. I’ve never had a kid that sick before. Maybe that will be your all-time worst and it will only be easier from here on out.
